Huawei Mate XT, the world’s first tri-fold smartphone, is officially released

Huawei has unveiled the world’s first tri-fold smartphone, the Huawei Mate XT. After several leaks and teasers, we now have official information. The device was launched in Huawei’s home country of China. Note that the company calls it the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design.

Huawei Mate XT Officially Launched, World’s First Tri-fold Smartphone

This smartphone has two hinges and a display. The display measures 10.2 inches when fully unfolded and is an OLED panel with a 3K resolution. It has an aspect ratio of 16:11, in case you were wondering. Needless to say, this is much larger than the average foldable smartphone (which is around 8 inches at most). When fully unfolded, this phone will feature a 10.2-inch 3K LTPO OLED display

It’s worth noting that this is the LTPO display Huawei uses, which has 1,440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. In addition to this, it has a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. And yes, the display is protected by UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass).

Let’s jump straight to the display, as it’s certainly the main attraction. The phone itself is made of metal and leatherette. There’s leatherette on the back of each display section, so basically the entire back of the phone is leatherette. There’s an octagonal camera island on the back of the phone, but we’ll talk more about that later. Equipped with 16GB RAM and 5,600mAh

 smartphone Huawei Mate XT battery

We still don’t know what SoC is used here, but if we had to guess, we’d say it’s the Kirin 9010, the same processor used in the latest Pura 70 smartphone. The phone comes with 16GB RAM and offers 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The specs revealed yesterday were far from the same. Instead of an 8,000mAh+ battery, the phone comes with a 5,600mAh

Tri-fold smartphone Huawei Mate XT battery

. Yes, it’s a silicon-carbon

Huawei smartphone battery, and it does look big enough for regular phones and foldable phones, but we wonder how it performs on this phone. If you end up using the phone fully unfolded, it might not be up to par. We’ll see.

The device does support 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Apart from that, it also supports 7.5W reverse wireless charging, and the charger seems to be included in the package. There are three cameras on the back, and the main camera even offers a variable aperture

The phone has three cameras on the back. The 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture, OIS) is backed by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.2 aperture). There is also a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (f/3.4 aperture, OIS, 5.5x optical zoom). On the front, you will find an 8-megapixel camera (f/2.2 aperture)

This smartphone comes pre-installed with HarmonyOS 4.2. The phone supports Bluetooth 5.2 and comes with stereo speakers. It comes in red and black colors, both with gold accents. This means that the colors leaked a few days ago were also mostly wrong.

The phone weighs 298 grams, which is not bad all things considered

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design measures 156.7 x 219 x 4.75 mm when fully unfolded. When using only one display, the dimensions are 156.7 x 73.5 x 12.8 mm. When using both displays, the phone measures 156.7 x 143 x 4.75-7.45 mm. The device weighs 298 grams

Oppo Find N5 leaks, reveals release timeline, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, display, camera details, and more

Last year, Oppo launched the Oppo Find N3 foldable phone in the Chinese market. However, the brand did not launch its successor this year. Recent reports claim that the brand may launch the Oppo Find N5 in the first quarter of 2025. In the latest leak, tipster Digital Chat Station has shared some key details about Oppo’s next-generation foldable phone.

The leak does not reveal information about the Oppo Find N5 battery. However, considering that the predecessor model had a 4,800mAh Oppo phones batteryand newer phones are increasingly leaning towards high-density silicon cells, the Find N5 will likely feature a larger Oppo Find N5 battery

Oppo Find N5 Key Specs (Rumored)

Foldable phones launched this year such as the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, Honor Magic V3, and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. According to DCS, the Find N5 will be powered by the SM8750 chipset, which is nothing more than the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC that is expected to debut in October. Therefore, it seems that the Find N5 could be the world’s first foldable phone to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip.

The leak suggests that the inner folding display and the cover screen will support 2K resolution. The device will feature a triple-camera setup on the back panel, with a 50-megapixel Sony camera on top. It will be joined by a periscope telephoto camera and possibly an ultra-wide-angle lens. Like its predecessor, the Find N5 will have a large circular camera island.

Notably, the Find N5 will be very thin and light, with a body thickness estimated to be around 9.x mm. It will also feature a three-level alert slider button and is expected to have enhanced structural reinforcement and waterproofing.

Nubia Redmagic 8 Pro review: A cut-throat gaming success

For a few years now, Nubia’s Redmagic sub-brand has been offering some of the best value-for-money gaming phones on the market. While the Asus ROG Phone range may be the biggest and best in this particular smartphone space, phones like the Redmagic 6S Pro and 7 Pro offer incredible value for money.

Pros Striking new design, fast performance,Long ZTE Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro batterylife

With the Redmagic 8 Pro, the brand has taken its core strengths, tackled its weaknesses, and wrapped it all up in a striking new design. Even if you’re not a particularly avid gamer, this is one of the most capable sub-£600 phones on the market.

To be fair, the Redmagic 8 Pro is another top-tier gaming phone, but the interesting development here is a hint of refinement amid all those mesmerizing specs. The dedicated remappable gaming ‘trigger button’ returns, giving the phone a key gaming advantage. New this time around is a boxier design that’s almost borderless, and there’s no selfie notch to get in the way either.

The Redmagic team even found time to address criticism of its camera technology, with a more competitive main sensor ensuring that photos are pleasant in most situations.

ZTE Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro battery

Nubia Redmagic 8 Pro review: Price and competition

The key attribute of any Redmagic phone (and what allows us to forgive its many rough edges and clunky decorations) is its absolutely amazing value.

The Redmagic 8 Pro is a top-of-the-line (in most respects) Android phone, starting at just £579. Add to that the fact that it comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and I’m hesitant to call this model the best of its class.

I never thought a gaming phone would do this, but the Redmagic 8 Pro comes closer to the full-screen ideal than any other phone I’ve used.

Strictly speaking, Nubia’s bold design approach isn’t all that gamer-friendly. The sharp edges and flat sides aren’t particularly comfortable to hold during long gaming sessions, especially as this is one of the heavier phones in the Redmagic range.

Besides being less comfortable to hold, there’s no real forehead or chin, which means you don’t get the dual front-facing speakers you get on the Asus ROG Phone and Lenovo Legion Phone series. The earpiece works well for that, but the bottom-mounted speakers are a little easy to block out when gaming. Sound is plenty loud and clear on both, though.

OPPO Find X8 series confirmed to use high-density silicon-carbon anode batteries

OPPO Find series product manager Zhou Yibao confirmed that the OPPO Find X8 series will feature silicon-carbon anode batteries, or what OPPO calls Glacier

OPPO Find X8 batteries

. For those unfamiliar, this new battery technology offers a higher energy density (industry-leading 763Wh/L) than traditional graphite batteries. It allows manufacturers to pack more capacity in a compact space. This is possible because

According to previous rumors from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Find X8, Find X8 Pro, and Find X8 Ultra will feature 5,600 mAh, 5,700 mAh, and 6,100 or 6,200 mAh batteries, respectively. For comparison, the Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra both feature 5,000 mAh batteries.

This new battery technology was first used in the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro (review) launched in June this year, and the

OnePlus Ace 3 Pro battery

reportedly offers 23.1% higher energy density than traditional graphite batteries. We have also seen ultra-thin foldable devices, such as the Honor Magic V2 and its newly launched Magic V3, benefit from this relatively new battery technology.

The OPPO Find series product manager also revealed that the OPPO Glacier OPPO Find battery

achieved the industry’s highest 6% negative electrode silicon carbon content. Technically, the higher the silicon content, the higher the energy density should be.

Of course, increasing the proportion of anode silicon has its limitations, and it is good to see that smartphone manufacturers are pushing the limits to provide longer battery life without sacrificing the handheld experience. According to the company’s head, Oppo has been working with CATL (one of China’s lithium-ion battery manufacturers) and has developed a battery technology cooperation plan for the next 1-3 years. This is expected to lay a solid foundation for the battery life of future OPPO Find X series devices.

Motorola RAZR V3 review – the best phone of 2004

Before the RAZR revival, let’s look back at the phone that established the RAZR brandThis year, Motorola is reviving its most successful phone ever: the RAZR. Originally launched in 2004, the trendsetting phone sold more than 50 million units between 2004 and 2006 and started a “thin phone” revolution that arguably continues to this day. However, the device was also a curse for Motorola; its success led the company to release several upgraded versions that didn’t perform as well as expected

Motorola RAZR V3: Design and DisplayEven in 2019, the RAZR V3 looks and feels futuristic. The use of a metal casing gives the device a premium feel, and the iconic flip mechanism (once a common sight in the world of mobile phones) makes a pleasant “click” sound when closed. Once closed, the RAZR V3 fits easily into your pocket, and it’s so thin and light that you’ll forget it’s even there.

When the phone is closed, the front is dominated by a 96 x 80 pixel color secondary screen that lets you see the time and date, as well as caller information. It also serves as a viewfinder for the phone’s VGA camera, which we’ll get to later. The volume rocker and shortcut keys are located on the side of the topmost part of the phone (the part with the screen open), making them difficult to reach whether the phone is closed or open. There’s no power button on the side, instead it’s on the “end call” key.

Motorola RAZR V3 Review – Best Phone of 2004

Flip the V3 over and you’ll find the speaker as well as a removable panel that reveals the removable

 Motorola RAZR V3 Battery

(remember that?) and SIM card slot. There’s no expandable storage on this phone, and it’s limited to 5MB of internal memory.

Open the phone and you’ll find a keypad and a 2.2-inch 176 x 220 LCD screen. The former is made from a single slab of aluminum, which sounds like a texting addict’s worst nightmare, but it’s not. Despite the lack of “proper” buttons, the V3’s keyboard is a joy to use — provided you can get used to T9 predictive text, of course.

Motorola RAZR V3: Software and Performance

Motorola RAZR V3 Review – Best Phones of 2004, Best Phones of 2019 Like most phones of the early 2000s, the RAZR V3 ran a proprietary software system unique to Motorola phones — this was long before apps and downloads became common, and while it was possible to surf the web and access email, this was not a smartphone.

While we judge modern smartphones on overall speed — which is usually related to the processor and the amount of available RAM — the RAZR V3 was born in an era when we were more concerned with usability. Moving around the phone was fairly easy, though there was a certain amount of lag when switching between features. Browsing the web was a pain, with pages taking a long time to load on pre-3G connections. Games were also slow, which just goes to show how low our expectations were in 2004. Motorola RAZR V3: Camera and Motorola RAZR V3 BatteryLife

You definitely didn’t want to give up the point-and-shoot camera for the V3, as the first model could only take VGA-resolution photos. They looked terrible, and in 2004, the phone was more about sharing photos via MMS than blowing them up to poster size like modern smartphones do now. The phone could also record video, but the quality was poor and again only suitable for sharing via MMS.

The RAZR V3’s 680mAh Motorola RAZR V3 battery

provided 250 hours of standby time and nearly 7 hours of talk time.

Motorola RAZR V3: Review

If we were to judge the RAZR V3 by modern standards, it would rate poorly; phones have evolved dramatically over the past 15 years, and we expect more from these devices today. The RAZR V3 was groundbreaking in 2004, but can you really imagine yourself using a phone with a VGA camera, no apps, and even no WiFi support in 2019?

Exclusive: Vivo Y300+ announced, new series will include 3 smartphones

As one of the important brands in the smartphone market, Vivo continues to compete in the mid-range smartphone market. The company is developing a new Vivo Y300+ 5G model. Gizmochina discovered this new smartphone in the IMEI database. With the appearance of this smartphone, we officially confirm that the Vivo Y300 series will consist of 3 models.

Battery Storage – If you do not plan to use yourVivo Smartphone  batteryfor a month or more, we recommend storing it in a clean, dry, cool place, away from heat sources and metal objects. NiCad, NiMH, and Li-ion batteries will self-discharge during storage; remember to run-in them before use.

Vivo Y300+ 5G is coming soon

Previously, several smartphones in the Vivo Y300 series have been leaked. Initially, a total of 2 models were discovered, the Y300 Pro 5G and the Y300 5G. Now, the Vivo Y300+ 5G has been exposed. Gizmochina discovered a new smartphone with the model number V2422. This model belongs to the Y300+ 5G, and with it, the Y300 series has 3 models. Compared with the Vivo Y300 5G, the Vivo Y300+ 5G is expected to be a slightly improved Vivo Y300 smartphone.

The specifications of the Vivo Y300+ 5G are also unknown. So, let’s take a look at the specifications of the predecessor of the Y300 5G, the Vivo Y200. The Vivo Y200 is a mid-range smartphone that is well-received with impressive specifications. The device is powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 and comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. In terms of the display, the Y200 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display. This AMOLED panel also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 16MP selfie camera.

We are waiting for the official launch date and detailed specifications of the Vivo Y300 series, which is set to make a significant impact on the market. For now, we are excited to see what Vivo has in store for the users of this new smartphone. The Vivo Y300 Pro performed mediocrely in performance benchmarks and had an average processorVivo is preparing to launch the Y300 Pro smartphone soon. The device is confirmed to be equipped with a large 6,500mAh Vivo Y300 Pro battery and support for 80W fast charging.

Thanks to a new Geekbench listing, we may now have details about its performance. The device appeared on the benchmarking platform with the model number V2410A.

The test results show that the phone is equipped with an older Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, and some competitors have already considered this chipset to be a step behind. This is also confirmed by the benchmark results, with the phone scoring only 2,801 multi-core and less than 1,000 single-core.

A saving grace may be that it is equipped with 12GB of RAM, which is a good multitasking capacity for a mid-range device. In addition, the phone is expected to run Android 14 out of the box, providing some future-proofing on the software side.

In addition to the  Vivo Y300 smartphone battery, Vivo has officially confirmed other key details of the Y300 Pro. The official trailer revealed that its design seems to borrow elements from two of Vivo’s brands.

The rear panel reportedly features a “jade ring” camera module, echoing the flagship X100 Ultra while incorporating the ring flash design elements of the current Y200. On the front, the device will feature a 6.77-inch micro-quad-curved OLED screen with 5,000 nits brightness and SGS eye protection. The Y300 Pro’s rear camera features a 50-megapixel main camera and a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies.

The phone also enhances the popular “Pro Mode”, now in its second generation, designed for professional use by riders with features such as enhanced hands-free calling, improved network optimization, and smart assistance during delivery tasks. The Y300 Pro is available in four different colors, such as Titanium, Gold Jade, White, and Black Jade.

Samsung Galaxy A55 review: The new mid-range king?

With its A series, Samsung has repeatedly proven that good smartphones don’t have to be expensive. The mid-range models offer enough performance for the average consumer. Will the Korean tech company launch another value-for-money hit this year?

Samsung Galaxy A55 Test: Endurance  Samsung Galaxy A55 Battery

The battery life of the Samsung A series has always been quite good. This is largely due to the fact that this phone does not use a high-performance processor. Good performance usually also ensures that the Samsung  smartphone Battery

does not drain excessively. Nevertheless, the performance of the Samsung Galaxy A55 does deserve the highest praise. After all, with general use, two days of Samsung  smartphone Battery

life should be possible. However, if you use the device more frequently, the battery will of course be depleted faster. Then you will have to use a charging cable to charge the smartphone. However, you will not get record-breaking charging performance.

The maximum power can reach 25 watts. I personally think this is outdated. After all, some mid-range models of competitors score well in this regard and charge with significantly higher power. Given the relatively low power, you also have to accept the corresponding charging time. Fully  Samsung Galaxy A55 Battery

Charging in just under 90 minutesConclusion

With the Samsung Galaxy A55, the Korean technology expert has managed to create a truly outstanding mid-range smartphone.

If you buy a mid-range smartphone, you shouldn’t expect miracles from the camera. This has always been the case. That’s why the Galaxy A55 can’t keep up with the flagships in this segment. But whether you find the camera of a smartphone satisfactory or very good depends on your expectations of it. Samsung Galaxy A55 Test: Technology

For the first time, Samsung uses its own Exynos processor in its latest A-series model. More precisely, the Exynos 1480 is the heart of this phone. It is supported by 8 GB of RAM. In everyday applications, such as surfing the Internet, watching YouTube videos and playing a game or two, I had no problems with the performance of this phone.

Of course, operating systems are always a matter of personal preference in terms of look and feel. Personally, I find One UI a little too cluttered in places. This doesn’t necessarily mean the looks. After all, Samsung scores here with a very good overview. On the contrary, I think there’s too much bloatware used here.

However, if this bothers you, you can just uninstall it. Samsung is surprisingly generous when it comes to providing future updates. According to the Korean tech company, the A55 will provide updates for a full five years. This means that the A55 is not in danger of being sent to the technological grave anytime soon.

This is first and foremost due to its modern design and high-quality build quality. But I was also really pleasantly surprised by the device’s performance. If you’re not a heavy user, you’ll probably only push the A55 to its limits in special situations. Its   Samsung Galaxy A55 Batterylife is also excellent.

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra review: Motorola’s wooden wonder?

Motorola has released its flagship smartphone, the Edge 50 Ultra, in the Indian market after a two-year hiatus. It is the successor to the Edge 30 Ultra that was launched in 2022. The latest offering comes with all the powerful features like the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, 100x AI SuperZoom, and more. Powerful Performance

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra Battery

Long Life, Clean Software Experience

However, these enhancements do come with a high price tag of Rs 54,999, putting the device in direct competition with the recently launched Honor 200 Pro and other big names like the OnePlus 12 and iQOO 12. So, the question is, is the Edge 50 Ultra worth the money? Should you buy it? Let’s find out in our review. Motorola Edge 50 Ultra Review: Design and Build

The Edge 50 Ultra comes with a wood finish that’s reminiscent of the iconic Moto X. It also comes in Peach Fuzz and Forest Grey with faux leather on the back, but the Nordic Wood color we reviewed is our favorite. The light Nordic Wood finish looks stylish and feels comfortable to hold.

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra review: Display and audio

The Edge 50 Ultra has a 6.7-inch curved pOLED display, which I’m not too fond of, but it does give the device a premium feel. Motorola remains one of the few phone manufacturers to offer a 144Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling on the Edge 50 Ultra an absolute treat. Motorola Edge 50 Ultra review: Performance and software

The Edge 50 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. This year, it has become a popular choice for smartphone brands. We’ve seen it on multiple devices, such as the recently launched Honor 200 Pro and some more affordable phones like the Poco F6, Realme GT 6, and Xiaomi 14 Civi. However, at this price point, Motorola’s latest will also compete with stronger rivals like the OnePlus 12 and iQOO 12. Motorola Edge 50 Ultra review: Cameras

The Edge 50 Ultra features a triple camera setup on the back. Also, like its Edge 50 Pro sibling, the Edge 50 Ultra also comes with Pantone color validation. It also comes with a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor, LED flash, and autofocus. But how does all this translate into real-world experience? Motorola Edge 50 Ultra review:

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra battery life and charging

The Edge 50 Ultra comes with a 4500mAh Motorola Edge 50 Ultra battery

, which may not sound impressive, but it can easily last a day on a single charge. In our PCMark battery test, it lasted 14 hours and 14 minutes. That’s not bad. To give you some context, we also ran the same test on the recently launched Honor 200 Pro

Honor 200 Pro Battery

It only lasted 10 hours and 2 minutes. The iQOO 12, which launched in December last year, lasted nearly 18 hoursMotorola Edge 50 Ultra Review: Conclusion

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is a strong contender in the premium smartphone space, combining design, performance, and features. Its standout features include a unique faux wood finish, a vivid and smooth display, powerful performance, impressive sound quality, and amazing Motorola Edge 50 Ultra batterylife.

However, potential buyers should carefully weigh its advantages against the competition before making a decision.
