The ProBook is billed as the lightest AMD business laptop. It starts at 0.99 kg, thanks to an all-metal body made of magnesium and aluminum. The laptop I reviewed came with the larger 53 Wh<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(there’s also a lighter 42 Wh battery option), which weighed about 1.1 kg. This isn’t the thinnest laptop I’ve tested, but it’s as light as most consumer-grade models. Unlike some laptops, the front of the ProBook doesn’t press into my palm when it rests on the palm rest. The ProBook also comes with a fingerprint sensor and an infrared Windows Hello facial recognition camera (with a privacy shutter). Alternatively, you can set up other authentication methods, such as Bluetooth devices or security questions, through the preinstalled HP Client Security app. This app also allows you to configure other HP security features, such as Sure Start (a self-healing BIOS) and Sure Recover (system recovery). But the most notable security feature is Sure View Reflect, an integrated privacy screen. Press F2 to enable it, which dims the screen. It’s also less likely that someone next to you will be able to see what’s on the screen, because the viewing angle is also severely reduced. The bad news: Even with Sure View Reflect disabled, the screen’s viewing angles and overall visibility are worse than a standard IPS display. In short, the ProBook’s screen may be difficult to see when used outdoors during the day. The ProBook’s other features are also suitable for business users: a comfortable backlit keyboard that doesn’t feel soft, good wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi 6 and optional LTE), and a good selection of ports (two USB Type-A, HDMI, and one USB-C). What I didn’t expect was that the ProBook has dual front-facing speakers, which are surprisingly good for a laptop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The HP ProBook 635 Aero G7, powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 4700U chip, scored 4,611 on PCMark 10. That’s slightly lower than the Razer Book 13 (4,909), which has a newer Intel processor. More importantly, the ProBook didn’t get as hot as the Razer Ultrabook during the benchmark. It was also fairly quiet.\u00a0<\/a><\/u><\/strong>hP ProBook 635 Aero G7 business laptop Battery<\/u><\/strong><\/a>life was very good, with the hP ProBook 635 Aero G7 business laptop getting about 8 hours and 20 minutes with the screen set to maximum brightness. Overall, the Probook is a solid business laptop.
