Xiaomi Watch 9 Battery<\/a><\/u><\/strong>Test: 3 Days of Heavy Use, No Battery Level Expected to Drop<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be honest, before receiving the watch, I was skeptical of the official claims about its long battery life. After all, smartwatches these days have more and more features, and brighter screens; it’s no wonder battery life is so limited. But this time, I was proven wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To test its limits, after fully charging, I deliberately didn’t use any power-saving settings. I kept the always-on display, scientific sleep monitoring, and all-day heart rate monitoring enabled, and even message notifications and several outdoor running records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1 Night: Before going to bed, I checked the Xiaomi Watch 9’s battery level: 95%. It barely lost any power on the first day, and I wondered if the display was inaccurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 2 Night: After a whole day of frequently raising my wrist to check the time, receiving WeChat notifications, and wearing it while sleeping for monitoring, the battery still had 88%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 3 Afternoon: This is the third day of use, and the battery level is now at 80%. Three days of heavy use only consumed 20% of the Xiaomi Watch 9 Battery<\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn’t just due to its large battery capacity, but also the result of optimized hardware and software. Although it has a built-in 470mAh battery, which isn’t the largest for a smartwatch, thanks to its low-power chip and Xiaomi’s Surge OS 2.0 system-level power-saving optimizations, every milliampere of power is used efficiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are a few tips to further save power and achieve this “insane battery life”:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choose “Power Saving Mode” according to your needs: If you’re not a heavy user, you can turn on the long battery life mode, turning the watch into a “larger fitness tracker,” effectively doubling the Xiaomi Watch 9’s battery life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Control “Screen On”: In the app, lower the sensitivity of “Raise to Wake” or turn off Always-On Display (AOD). This is the biggest drain on the Xiaomi Watch 9 Battery<\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background Management: Turn off notifications from infrequently used apps, keeping only key notifications like WeChat and phone calls enabled. This keeps things quiet and saves power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After using it for a few days, the most noticeable difference is: I forget where I put my charger.
