Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3 review: Nano changes, but still a powerful portable

The ThinkPad X1 Nano’s hardware remains virtually unchanged, even in its third generation. Like its predecessor, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3 is an ultraportable laptop for professionals who need high performance on the go. When we reviewed the first-generation X1 Nano, we were disappointed by the small trackpad and lack of ports, but were pleased with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon’s reduced size. Those complaints still apply to the X1 Nano Gen 3, but so do professionals. The Gen 3 remains one of the most portable business laptops and even rivals the competition, but is that enough to make it one of our best business laptops?

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3 Laptop BatteryDisplay

The ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3 features a 13.3-inch 2K (2160 x 1350p) anti-glare display, which is slightly larger than its predecessor and comparable to the competition.

The 16:10 aspect ratio makes the screen more rectangular, which is perfect for working on spreadsheets or browsing the internet. As a result, there are thicker black bars at the top and bottom of any widescreen video, but it’s not too distracting. enovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3 audio

With Dolby Atmos, Dolby Voice, and four 360-degree quad-array microphones there is some serious audio quality built into the tiny body of the ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3.

As you may expect with an ultra-thin laptop, the onboard speakers aren’t the highest quality you’ll ever find in a laptop. They do a pretty good job with treble, but you absolutely need to crank the volume up to 100 to get much of any bass. Listening to Earth, Wind, and Fire’s “September” was a bit tinny and lost some depth but was pretty serviceable for a laptop.

Despite its compact size, the X1 Nano Gen 3 has all the usual ThinkPad safety features. Included is a discrete TPM 2.0 security chip that encrypts any ThinkPad X1 Nano, an ultra-portable business laptop that works well in any environment while keeping your data safe. The hardware is well suited for its use case, and the low-profile design is perfect for business meetings as it can easily blend into the background.

Check out the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 4

If there was an entry for “business laptop” in the dictionary, the one pictured here is the ThinkPad T14. Lenovo’s basic black ultrathin model has been the archetype for years: The T series is the company’s flagshipLenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 4  Laptop Batteryand 14 inches is the most popular screen size. The ThinkPad T14s Gen 4 (starts at $1,275.45; $2,039.99 as tested) is the latest iteration of that slightly thinner original, though the T14s and T14s are now nearly identical in size and specs. Our favorite for business travelers remains the top-of-the-line Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11, which is thinner and lighter, but the T14 is a top-notch choice if you want to save a few hundred bucks. Configurations and design: Choices and prices galore

Measuring 0.66 by 12.5 by 8.9 inches, the ThinkPad T14s is a twentieth of an inch thinner than the T14s, but both are considered ultraportables (2.69 pounds versus 2.97 pounds, respectively). Jumper EZbook X3 Air laptop review: An affordable alternative with a premium finish

The Jumper EZbook X3 Air is a surprisingly well-built budget laptop for those who want something that looks the part.Jumper isn’t a particularly large brand, but the firm is starting to pop up more and more in my DMs from people curious about their devices. The generally firm seems to make tech that at least looks premium, with the budget-conscious in mind. The EZbook X3 Air Laptop Battery
is no exception, with a design that looks like it could’ve come off Dell or Apple’s assembly line, with a far, far more affordable price tag.
The compromise, of course, is performance, but if you’re a student or looking to buy an entry-level experience for your kid’s homework assignments, the Jumper EZbook X3 Air might be a great buy for you.The best thing about the Jumper EZbook X3 Air is the surprisingly high-quality construction and finish, especially when you take into account that svelte price point. Chamfered edges with a metallic finish really give it a hint of premium flair, with chiclet keys with decent key travel and a precision touchpad that makes browsing and word processing quite pleasant. The EZbook X3 Air sports a 1080p HD IPS display, which gets decent color reproduction and sharpness, but lacks brightness to the point where it might be unusable outdoors. For the most part, though, you’ ll probably be using this in an office or a school scenario, which renders the brightness a bit of a moot point. For indoor use, it’s totally adequate, with decent viewing angles. Just keep it away from a window, though, because this panel is not really designed to ward off glare.
The bezels around the display are more the sort I’d expect to see on higher-end brands, thin enough to give it a dash of modernity, while still remaining affordable. The top bezel is angled a little wider to house a webcam, which is a preferable solution to putting the webcam down low as we’ve seen on some laptops that become a little too over-obsessed with thin bezels. The webcam quality will be decent enough for taking those work or school Zoom calls, but don’t expect to be doing any content creation with it.
Speaking of audio, the EZbook X3 Air Laptop Battery has downward-firing speakers that pull surprisingly impressive sound, oftentimes better than what I’ve heard on far more expensive laptops, complete with DTS certification.
What about performance? The Jumper EZbook X3 Air is a laptop that is designed with a very specific consumer in mind, with components that were designed for very specific consumers. The EZbook X3 Air utilizes Intel’s Gemini Lake Celeron processor, which has both advantages and disadvantages .
I was actually fairly impressed with the performance of the EZbook X3 Air. It handles media apps like Netflix with ease, and most websites run well on Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Office tools like Word, Powerpoint, and the like don’t struggle. However, if you try to move up to things like Adobe Photoshop, or even higher, like Premiere Pro, you may find that you’ve hit the limits of what this laptop can do.
This isn’t being marketed as a gaming machine by any means either, but when services like Project xCloud on Xbox Game Pass proliferate on PC, this could actually become a decent gaming option for in between those intense study sessions. The Intel Graphics HD 600 combined with 8GB of RAM and the quad-core Celeron processor can actually make short work of many older, less-intensive gaming titles on Steam as well. Just don’t expect to be running Cyberpunk 2077 or any modern game on this thing. Even Minecraft and World of Warcraft don’t run particularly well.
The battery performance fell largely in-line with listed expectations, hitting about 4-5 hours on a single charge with average day-to-day blogging use. This might not be enough to get a full workday out of for most people, but using Windows 10’s battery-saving features can push that juice up to around 6-7 hours.
Update January 15, 2021: After a few months of light use, the  EZbook Laptop Battery HDD died, and the system has a strange BIOS that makes repairing it difficult.
Should you buy the Jumper EZbook X3 Air?For the vast majority of people, the Jumper EZbook X3 Air is actually a surprisingly capable machine, for things like web browsing, Office, webmail, and beyond. The experience offers a few compromises when it comes to more intensive tasks, but for college students looking to save money, or someone looking to buy their kid an entry-level laptop experience, this is a truly great option.
The Jumper EZbook X3 Air might not win any best Windows laptop awards, and you won’t be editing 4K video footage on the Jumper EZbook X3 Air Laptop Battery or playing next-gen AAA games with ray tracing. I suspect you knew that already, though. This is more akin to a netbook experience, and in that, the EZbook X3 Air excels. However, the HDD failed after just a few months of use, which is a grim reminder of what can happen if you buy cheap hardware. This is probably best avoided. For college students, older kids, or someone who just wants the basics of word processing, emails, and maybe some Netflix, the EZbook X3 Air is a truly great option. Or, it would be, if the HDD didn’t fail after a few months of light use.

Dell Latitude 15 9510 2-in-1 laptop review: Premium experience, premium price

Dell is undoubtedly one of the most sought after brands in the Windows laptop market, thanks to the solid reputation it has built over the years. Dell laptops are often associated with top-notch hardware, top security, good customer service, and one of the most important aspects of a computer, durability. As such, Dell’s products are not necessarily the most competitively priced and are therefore aimed at a specific target group, such as business people who are looking for a reliable and secure workhorse. Dell’s Latitude series is a perfect fit for such requirements. Specifically, the Latitude 15 9510 2-in-1, which we have been using for a few weeks, is built like a tank, has powerful internals, rich AI features, and can also transform into a touchscreen tablet on the go. However, all of this costs a whopping Rs 2,10,000. Is it worth spending money on the Dell Latitude 15 9510 2-in-1 when other brands have cheaper options with the same specifications? Let’s find out. Built like a tank

The Dell Latitude 9510 has an all-metal body with a brushed aluminum finish on the lid and keyboard deck. The laptop feels solid and durable in the hand, almost like a giant slab of metal. It’s one of the highest-quality laptops we’ve seen, but the all-metal build also means the Latitude 9510 isn’t the lightest on the market. The trim around the laptop has a polished beveled design that can easily scratch with daily use. There’s no flex in the keyboard deck, even under heavy pressure. There are forward-facing speaker grilles on either side of the keyboard, and the sound quality is excellent and the volume is quite loud. This implementation of speaker output is one of the best for laptops, but unfortunately it’s rare as manufacturers tend to opt for downward-firing speakers to save space for other components. If media consumption is your priority, the Latitude 9510 won’t let you down. Never-Draining Dell Latitude 9510 Battery

In our opinion, the best feature of the Dell Latitude 9510 is the Dell Latitude 9510 Batterylife. This laptop won’t run out of power, especially when used for light tasks like surfing the web and typing documents. We used it daily with about 30% Dell Latitude Battery, which gave us about 12 hours of use. This means that if you completely drain the Dell Latitude 9510 Battery, you can easily expect more than 15 hours of use from the Latitude 9510, which is excellent.

7

If you are always on the go or your work requires you to be away from a power outlet for a long time, the Latitude 9510 will not let you down. In addition, this laptop supports ExpressCharge, which means you can charge about 80% in an hour, which is enough for a whole day. Since the laptop charges via USB-C, rather than a proprietary port, you will not have the trouble of finding a charger even if you forget to bring the charger that came with the laptop.

The Dell Latitude 9510 seems to be a perfect all-rounder…but should you buy it?

How to replace the battery in Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2

The Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen 1’s sleek design and top-notch performance made it one of our favorite ThinkPads, and the ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 is better than its predecessor in almost every way. Like the previous generation, you also have the option to replace many parts, including theLenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen 1 battery and rechargeable batteries. Since Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen 1 laptop batteries lose capacity over time, they are often the first part that needs to be replaced. If the battery drains too quickly, you may need to throw away the old battery of your Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen 1 battery and replace it with a new one. What do you need?

A Phillips screwdriver is an essential tool for the entire process. You’ll also need a non-conductive pry tool to safely remove the laptop’s back panel. We recommend that you wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent static electricity from accumulating and damaging the laptop’s internal components. After all, we need your work

The ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 laptop uses the same 51.5Wh battery as the Gen 1 model, so you can easily find it online.

The Quick Start feature allows you to put your system to sleep and continue where you left off. However, fast startup may prevent your laptop from shutting down properly. Therefore, you must shut down your laptop before you can disable the built-in battery in BIOS.

Right-click the Start button and select Run.

Under Power Options, click Change what the power button does. Make sure the Enable fast startup switch is off, then click the Save changes button at the bottom of the page. How to disable the built-in battery

If you remove the battery without shutting down your Lenovo laptop, the residual current in the battery may damage internal components. To disable the built-in battery in BIOS:

Restart your system, and when you see the Lenovo logo, press and hold F2 to enter the BIOS.

Go to the setup menu and click On/Off.

Select the Disable built-in battery option, press Enter, and select Yes in the window that pops up.

Press F10, select Yes in the confirmation window and exit BIOS.

How to remove the Nano SIM card holder

Lenovo also recommends removing the Nano SIM card and tray. To do this, find the slot on the side of the laptop and press the eject button.

How to Replace theBattery  Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2

As mentioned above, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 is very similar in design to the Gen 1. Both laptops use the same 51.5Wh battery, so by following the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen 1 replacement guide below, you should not experience any battery performance issues.

Power off the laptop, remove the power adapter and place it on a flat, non-conductive surface.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the five screws holding the bottom in place. Use a pry bar to carefully remove the bottom of the laptop.

Remove the six 4.4 mm M2 x L flat head screws holding the battery in place and gently pull out the Lenovo laptop battery.

Place the new battery in the same location and secure it with the six thumbscrews removed earlier.

Put it back on the bottom and secure it with the five screws removed initially. Final Thoughts

The newly installed battery is now ready for use. It is recommended to calibrate the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 laptop battery

First generation

, charge to 100% first, then discharge it completely. Thanks to the efficient Ryzen 7000 processor, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 battery  has a long battery life, so you don’t have to switch gears quickly.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold review – The focus is on the “experience”

In a town of thin and light notebooks, performance-focused laptops, and gamers with Manhattan-like desktop systems, Lenovo has taken a step in a direction that many dared not take. As the monotony of laptop system design reaches a saturation point, a change needs to happen. But how? Implanting chips into the human body with Elon Musk’s Neuralink so that we don’t need laptops anymore? Well, that’s a topic for the future, but what we have now is the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold, a laptop with a foldable screen. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold itself has a leather finish, and when folded, this texture looks like a book-written diary. Now, folding is only half of the experience. The real thrill is opening it up. You put your finger in the gap, try to open it, and the laptop’s screen opens. You can actually feel the entire screen folded in front of you. While your eyes are admiring this sci-fi product in the real world, a hero is working behind the scenes to make it all possible, and that’s the hinge. The entire machine is military-grade certified and durable. As a high-end product, the ThinkPad X1 Fold comes with a dedicated customer service staff, and if you choose, you can also get more than 3 years of excellent warranty support.

Screen The highlight of the system is the folding screen, which is a 13.3-inch OLED panel that supports touch input. The 2K resolution display is very clear and the colors are very vivid. If we don’t talk about the folding aspect for the time being and only talk about the display, the color reproduction is very good, and the clearer resolution brings a good reading experience. The screen brightness is sufficient, and we set the brightness of the device to 60% when testing.

Originally, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold was planned to run on Windows 10X to achieve maximum efficiency of the folding screen. But in the end, the device now comes with regular Windows 10 Pro, which contains a lot of customization and adjustments from Lenovo. One of the notable features is the Lenovo Mode Switcher, which is automatically triggered when you fold the device. It allows you to use the entire display as one screen or split it into two screens and use them separately.

The stylus can also be used to draw and type instead of typing on the virtual keyboard on the screen. Lenovo has packed so many little features into the system that make the Windows experience on the ThinkPad X1 Fold a lot better. But there are some issues.

The screen orientation sometimes gets stuck in landscape or portrait mode, which requires manually switching (on/off) the orientation in the display settings. Also, the computer sometimes may not exit mini-computer mode after removing the keyboard. These are some software issues, and since the ThinkPad X1 Fold is the first of its kind, Lenovo says a fix will be available soon. Selective connectivity, no headphones required!

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold only comes with two USB Type-C ports. No Ethernet, no USB-A, no headphone jack, and no display output. The compact form factor and the inclusion of new display technology have resulted in the omission of quite a few space-consuming ports on the device. Disappointingly, USB-C audio is not currently supported. This means you can’t connect regular 3.5mm or USB-C headphones directly to the machine. The only way to connect headphones is through Bluetooth.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold BatteryLife

When we used the ThinkPad X1 Fold in Balanced mode on battery settings, the 50Whr battery lasted for about 4-5 hours. In Performance mode, the battery life dropped by about an hour, but the overall responsiveness of the system improved. You can also try to use it for a few more hours in Power Saving mode. We mainly used the ThinkPad X1 Fold in Balanced mode at about 60% brightness, which gave us an average of about 5 hours

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold Battery Life.

The 65W charging adapter takes about 90 minutes to charge the machine from 0% to 100%. You can also use the device while charging, but this will slow down the charging speed. The battery life feels short considering that it is an OLED display that is considered power-efficient.

Conclusion – Should you buy the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold?

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold Review – The Focus is on “Experience” – Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold Review 8

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold does not compete directly with other laptops on the market. It is a product that technology enthusiasts and professionals are most interested in, with unique technology that is essentially the first of its kind

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x Gen 9 review: A quiet and powerful laptop with Snapdragon X Elite

Arm-based Windows laptops equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite/Plus have begun to appear as Microsoft’s main AI PC “Copilot+ PC”.

“Copilot+PC=Arm” is not the case. Models equipped with x86/x64 Intel/AMD processors are expected to appear in the future, but one of the requirements is “40TOPS or above NPU (neural processing unit, AI processing) As a result, Qualcomm is the only choice at launch.

Arm-based Windows PCs have been launched in small batches for a while, but now they are finally coming to the fore, with performance improvements similar to those when Macs transitioned to the Arm architecture a few years ago. Many people may be worried about compatibility.

This time, we borrowed the first Copilot+ computer from Lenovo Japan, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x Gen 9, and tried it out. Stylish and thin laptop with high entertainment performance

Yoga used to be the name of a two-in-one computer with a 360-degree rotating display, but in recent years it has been redefined as a high-end brand for consumer products, and this machine also has a typical hinge shape. A style of laptop. The main body measures about 325 x 225.15 x 12.9 mm (the thinnest part) and weighs about 1.28 kg. The color is cosmic blue. Although it is thin, it is tough enough to meet MIL standard. It also comes with four speakers that support Dolby Atmos, providing an excellent experience for entertainment purposes such as watching videos, which is a typical feature of premium PCs for personal use. In addition, it is equipped with four noise-canceling microphones, and the webcam can improve image quality through Windows Studio Effects, one of the AI features of Copilot+ PC, and is also good at video calls.

The only interface is USB Type-C, two on the left and one on the right. In addition to the USB Type-C terminal on the right, there is a privacy shutter switch for turning off the camera and a power button. Charging is also done via USB Type-C, and a 65W USB PD charger is included. The Yoga Slim 7x Gen 9 is not fanless, but in practice, even if you only notice its presence under high loads such as benchmarks, the fan will not run in many cases, so its excellent quietness is indeed attractive. In addition, if you think back to when Apple Silicon was launched, I think many people expected that if Windows also used Arm, theYoga Slim 7x Gen 9  battery life would be significantly better.

To test the continuous runtime of video playback, I played a video on YouTube I played a full HD video on the 100% to 3% shutdown and found that the Yoga Slim 7x Gen 9 battery lasted about 13 hours and 30 minutes (Google Chrome, screen brightness 50%. , speaker volume 10%, Wi-Fi connected). Although this is an excellent record, this model is actually equipped with a large 70Wh battery, so if you consider fuel efficiency rather than range, the power saving performance is still significantly different compared to Intel/AMD models. I can’t say for sure. If you are currently choosing a Copilot+ PC, the Yoga Slim 7x Gen 9 itself is a strong candidate. It has a stylish design, a high-quality organic EL display, four speakers, and the high processing performance of Snapdragon.

A week with the Surface Laptop 7: There’s a lot to like, but the Copilot Plus PC isn’t perfect

The first Microsoft Surface Laptop powered by Snapdragon X shows the potential of the move to Arm. Lingering emulation issues should make potential buyers think twice, but the performance boost, impressive Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 batterylife, and some interesting new AI features offer a sleek, refined Windows experience. I’ve been using the first Copilot Plus PC (Microsoft 7th Gen Surface Laptop) for over a week now, and the experience has been mixed. I’ve waited seven years for Windows on Arm to deliver on its promise of long battery life and performance that rivals the best in the industry. Thankfully, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X platform delivers on these fronts, but there are still some caveats that should make potential buyers think twice before spending so much money.

On the other hand, we have AI, the current buzzword in the tech industry. While AI does offer some impressive capabilities, it’s on the verge of overuse and over-stuffing into every little feature of smartphones and now laptops. Add in competitive processing, and Microsoft is hoping AI can outdo Apple’s MacBook. But are Copilot Plus PCs the future of computing or just a flash in the pan?

If you’re considering buying one of these new machines, here’s everything you need to know about the experience.

For this review, I tested a 15-inch Microsoft Surface Laptop (2024) with a 12-core Snapdragon X Elite (X1E80100), 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD configuration.

Copilot Plus PCs Meet Our Hardware Needs

Microsoft Surface 7th Gen USB C Ports

While I used a Microsoft Surface Laptop for this review, there are actually a lot of options if you want to experience the Copilot Plus PC experience. Dell, HP, Samsung, and others all offer hardware in the $1,300 price range with the same or similar Snapdragon X CPUs and dedicated Copilot keys. So, in terms of the core experience, these PCs are all very similar; the design, keyboard, and display features are very different.

Still, the Microsoft Surface Laptop’s design sets a new standard, and it’s well built, as you’d expect from a seventh-generation $999-plus laptop. The recycled aluminum alloy comes in a stylish Sapphire (blue) or Dune (bronze/tan) colorway, as well as practical black and silver. I opted for the latter and was not disappointed. With a pixel-dense 2,496 x 1,664 HDR touchscreen, responsive tactile keys, and future-proof Wi-Fi 7 support, Microsoft certainly showed us how good the Copilot Plus PC hardware is.

Surface Laptop batterylife

My only complaint: The 15-inch model is a bit heavy at 1.7 kg (3.67 pounds), compared to the less-than-1 kg Huawei MateBook X Pro (2024) Ultrabook and the 1.24 kg MacBook Air. Still, Microsoft has packed in a battery that should easily get you through a full workday. As everyone has said, battery life on these devices is truly outstanding. I haven’t experienced Microsoft’s 20-hour video playback or 15-hour web browsing metrics (at a fairly dim 150 nits brightness), but the latter isn’t far off the 10 hours or more I’ve seen when using a laptop during the day. But there’s a big asterisk with these battery claims, which we’ll get to later.

No matter which Copilot Plus PC you choose, you’re getting Snapdragon X performance, AI extras, and long Laptop Battery life.

For a cutting-edge device, I found the selection of USB ports a little odd. Two multifunction USB-C ports are flanked by USB-A sockets and a 3.5mm headphone jack, while a microSD card is hidden in another port, which I find useful. But it’s 2024, and I could live without the old port types if it made the laptop a little lighter (my desktop audio, display, and keyboard are on dongles anyway), but I appreciate that others might still find some use in these traditional use cases. Unfortunately, the USB-A port failed a few times for me, completely refusing to accept or power any connections until a reboot. Likewise, the USB-C port sometimes struggled to communicate with the DisplayPort through my USB-C hub. Maybe there’s something wrong with my device, or the hub isn’t very good. I haven’t had this issue with other laptops, though.

When you do eventually need to power the laptop, the 65W USB Power Delivery gets you back on pretty quickly, even if it’s not the highest power level you’ll see in a laptop of this class. Microsoft stubbornly sticks with its stupid proprietary connector port and bundles a 12-pin charger with the laptop (39W for the 13-inch model, 65W for the 15-inch). As far as I’m concerned, this plug is just e-waste, since I already power the laptop with one of the many USB-C plugs I already have.
